about

In  1929  Bill Hamilton was born in China where his parents were missionaries.  Often he traveled internationally as a youth; giving him a broad view of life.  He continues to enjoy history and world events.

At a young age Bill was recognized for artistic talent.  In junior high he was asked to paint a current cityscape.  He enjoyed painting planes and other interests.  He received a scholarship to the local art college.

After college in 1950 Bill enlisted in the US Air Force.  By enlisting in this new branch of the service he avoided being drafted in the US Army.  He was an accomplished pilot in Korea and Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service.

While being in the AF, Bill enrolled in an art correspondence program; this gave him confidence in his artistic eye.

In 1967 Bill and his wife made their home at KI Sawyer AFB.  During retirement, Bill recieved a master's degree in education from Northern MI University.  They raised three children and made their home on Little Lake in the Upper Peninsula of MI.

Bill's watercolor paintings depict the beauty and history of the UP with its inland lakes, glorious skies, Great Lakes shores and industries.  Bill also paints of his recent travel and interests.
About  my self, Judy:

I have dabbled in watercolor since 1993.  I have not been able to master watercolor but I admire great watercolorists.

In 1997 I began cutting mats for my fellow watercolorists and myself which allowed us to enter local shows.  I have found success and joy in matting and framing.

I moved to K I Sawyer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2013 and  daily I appreciate the natural wonders and history.

I saw Bill Hamilton's artwork at the K I Sawyer History Museum but could not find his work on the web so I chose to design a site for his artwork.

The 3 posters on this page are also available at this site and K I Sawyer History Museum; proceeds are given to the museum.
